Who we are

Your New Kit ("we", "us") operates a private, school-based marketplace that helps parents pass on or sell used school uniform within their school community. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you use our website and services.

What we collect

• Account information: when you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, and basic profile details (such as your name and profile picture) through our authentication provider, Supabase.
• Profile information: your first name and optional profile photo, which other parents at your school may see when you list or reserve items.
• School membership: which school marketplaces you have joined and your role (parent or school administrator).
• Marketplace activity: listings you create, photos you upload, reservation requests, messages between buyers and sellers, saved favourites, and reports you submit.
• Technical data: standard server and security logs (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) collected by our hosting and infrastructure providers.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for, and you must not provide, children's names, classes, or other personal information about pupils. Your New Kit is for parents only.

How we use information

We use your information to:

• create and secure your account;
• connect you to the correct school marketplace;
• display listings and facilitate reservations and messaging;
• send service emails (such as when a school goes live);
• moderate content and respond to reports;
• improve, protect, and operate the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

Who can see your data

School marketplaces are private. Only members of a school can see that school's listings and related activity. Other parents see your first name and profile photo — not your email address or full Google profile. Messages are visible only to the buyer and seller involved.

Service providers

We use trusted third parties to run the service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Google (sign-in), and Resend (transactional email). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.

How long we keep data

We retain your account and marketplace data while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we will delete or anonymise it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date.
